Debugging Calls

To get someone to set up a debugging call:

  1. We recommend you have your own calendly link with a 15 min meeting

  2. We have a team debugging link: calendly.com/withfig/debugging

It's often good for you to be the first pass of information. Then if you can't solve it live on the phone

If you are setting up a call for someone else, you should give them as much context as possible!

Tools you should use

Best practices

  1. Do a Google Meet. It's fast and easy
  2. Ask the user to share their full screen not just the terminal.
  3. Be nice but assertive: you are leading the call not the user. Don't let them drag you off. You know the tests that need to be run
  4. Be respectful of their time - they are going out of their way to help us
  5. Try and get them to accurately reproduce

If you can't resolve

  1. Schedule another call right there on the phone with someone on the team who can help
  2. Get as much information as you can from them - fig diagnostic
  3. Create an issue and share with team member
  4. Get off the phone so as to not waste your or their time
